Most of the children are orphans or abandoned, some have mild to medium levels of learning or mental disabilities. The home also provides support to families who are temporarily unable to take care of their kids. The parents are being encouraged and taught effective parenting skills while the children stay in the social home. The establishment also runs a Crisis center, which serves as an emergency shelter for abused and traumatized children or those from problem families.
Another program of the Social home is for social and professional integration. It prepares for independent living 17 - 20 years old youths who grew up in this or other similar facilities throughout the country. During the day they attend vocational training courses, but the volunteers may meet and spend time with some of them in the evenings and weekends.
The socially disadvantaged background of most of the children is considered to be the reason for many problems, which they face in school, in their contacts with other people, in their everyday life. That's why the interaction with other young people from different countries while working, playing, learning together in the frame of an international volunteer project effectively supports their socialization and adapting to life in mainstream society.
The main objective of the project is establishing intercultural social contact between the children of Rodopski pansion and the group of international volunteers from all parts of the world, as well as improving children's communication skills.
You and your creativity and lively attitude can be the best donation.
Would you like to test yourself and get an unforgettable social experience?
Would you like to find new friends?
Don't wait! We need help with event planning and with activities at the event itself, like registration, hosting, kids area, entertainment, food and water, set up, etc.

For over 10 years this event has raised funds for the Kids Help Phone, which is a confidential and professional counselling service helping kids in our community 24/7. In 2010, we answered over 25,000 calls and nearly 3,000 online posts in Alberta alone on issues such as abuse, depression, suicide, bullying, eating disorders and family crisis.
If you can spare some time, we sure could use your help!
The main focus of this project is on practical work in the community doing several kinds of support and development works like the construction or renovation of village houses or schools, etc. The exact nature of the work will depend of the needs of the village at the moment of the project but the participants will also experience a cultural exchange with the local villagers.
The Singburi projects are part of a larger campaign and efforts to stimulate rural development with the support of International Voluntary Service. We believe that the impact of the international volunteers in rural communities is an important stimulus to open minds and reduce prejudices. We work a lot with rural areas to transmit these values to the villagers.
The aim of this project is to not only contribute to the rural development of the village, rather, it is hoped that through this work, both the participants and the villagers come closer to each other, have fun (sanuk) together, learn more about each other's cultures and set a good basis for future activities and give both the participants and the local people an opportunity to exchange their cultures and backgrounds.

Location: Sing Buri is 142 km north of Bangkok on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River. It was established in the year 1895 during the reign of King Rama V through a consolidation of three small riverside towns including Sing Buri, In Buri, and Phrom Buri. The province currently occupies an area of 822 square kilometres. Singburi has many beautiful temples for visit: Wat Phra Non Chakkrasi Worawihan is a royal temple in the third class. Inside the Wihan (image hall), a large reclining Buddha image is enshrined. Furthermore, there are two other Buddha images: Phra Kan and Phra Kaeo. They were built in the reign of King Rama V to be the principal image at a ceremony for civil servants to swear an oath of allegiance to the king.

For more details and enrollment, please visit: www.cadip.org/volunteer-in-thailand.htm or give us a call: 604-628-7400

For volunteer opportunities in other countries: www.cadip.org

Global Creek is an environmental education and sustainable-living centre based out of the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. Our mission is to connect local and international communities to further ecological research and information sharing and to ultimately further -- make simpler and more accessible -- holistic sustainable living approaches for both our local communities and international visitors (in their own lives and their communities as well). Our main international reach towards these goals comes through our highly-reviewed Volunteer Program, in which we work with host campuses to provide an experiential-learning centre not only for daily visitors but for a completely-integrated volunteer work-living experience.

Sustainability is very much about simple balance, in all that we each do. This balance touches all that we do, beginning first and foremost with finding (and always searching for more) all the ways that we can to live and operate sustainably in our basic day-to-day actions, aiming to always lead a "net-positive environmental-gain" lifestyle. Little things make big differences, from balancing our use and reliance upon technological-innovations to thinking about each of our choices in shopping and in our meal choices. And we also always strive for a balance of "work and play", or ensuring each week is complete with a mix of hard-work, lots of learning (both in the fields and elsewhere), plenty of relaxing and personal-time, and full of opportunities to explore the local areas and grow in each aspect of your visit and experience. Work hard, have fun, enjoy.

There are a variety of different types of projects and areas in which volunteers may get involved at Global Creek, with each exact role tailored to the combination of the campus and individual volunteer. We work together to find a custom union between our active projects and needs lists and your particular interests, skills, goals and objectives. Our core on-going project areas are:
* Gardens Stewardship
* Nature Trails Stewardship
* Natural Animal-Husbandry
* Sanctuary Patrol & Protection
* Plant and Wildlife Identification
* Cacao Stewardship
* Community Outreach
* Labourers
* Educators
* Academic Researchers

I became aware not too long ago that every time I have a question about making a more financially abundant and successful life for myself I ask the people currently in my life, I ask them because I love and respect them, but lets face it these people have less of a clue then I do. Its time to step out of my comfort zone and stop listening to all the doubters and control freaks.
I need some guidance.
I'm looking for a "successful" big brother, someone with life experience and decision making abilities and the wealth to show it.
For over 14 years this project has been organized in the Turtle Camp at Colola Beach with extraordinary results. This project is the source of many beautiful stories; hundreds of volunteers from all over the world had participated. The aim of this projects is to protect the marine turtles working in tight collaboration with the local population who lives in Colola Town or as they say "the place where dreams come true". Volunteers along with local people will realize activities to protect the turtles, and will help to ensure the survival of the turtles for the future generations. There are two species of turtles arriving to this area: Negra (Black Turtle) and Golfina (Olive Riddle Turtle), the size of the turtles vary from 1 meter to 1.5 meters long and the weight from 40 kg to 100 kg. Every turtle makes a nest of around 150 eggs.
The main work consists in patrolling the beach at night, finding the adult turtles and collecting the eggs, burying them in a secure place (vivero in Spanish) and setting the baby turtles free back in to the ocean. This must be carried out by night since turtles do not go out the ocean by day (because of natural predators, it is safer for turtles to get out the ocean in the dark). In collaboration with local indigenous people from Colola, volunteers will seek for the turtles taking care of their eggs and the baby turtles. Locals are very friendly and working with them is very pleasant as they explain to the group what to do. We need very motivated volunteers who really want to get involved in this project willing to interact with the local people and their culture.
There are also some extra activities to do with the local people to help improve the town such as setting names to the streets or helping to arrange an all purpose playground for the children and maybe some cleaning tasks, but it depends on your initiative! Local people are very open to participate in other activities and volunteers can also propose their own initiatives, so your ideas will be welcomed!
The official language of the project is English. Some Spanish would be appreciated.
Location: Colola is a small town located on the Michoacan State coast, between Maruata and La Placita towns. It's a remote place that offers an excellent opportunity to be close to nature, on a virgin beach, with no tourism around. The closest city is Tecoman at 200 kilometers, but other villages such as La Placita that are closer (45 minutes by bus) can offer Internet connection.

For more details, please visit: www.cadip.org/volunteer-in-mexico.htm or give us a call: 604-628-7400

This project is part of CADIP's International Volunteer Program: www.cadip.org/workcamps.htm

General rules and conditions for participation on our workcamp projects: www.cadip.org
